It is generally understood that if there's a competitive upgrade
it also applies to former versions, if there's not a better
upgrade for them.

Do they read Email? My impression is that few companies do, and
even fewer count it the way they do snail mail. Email is too
easy.

Why not? Would they move the operation? Get all those programmers
and support staff to move to Ottawa, which is in another country
(and the skiing isn't nearly as good). Indeed, if I were a
programmer I wouldn't: Utah is a kind of silicon valley in the
mountains, and there are lots more other computer jobs there than
in Ottawa or even Toronto.
