Yes it can, unfortunately. BUT--Dr. Ritchie spoke near here recently,
and I went to see him. He announced that the vaccine is available
nationwide now! SO...if anybody is concerned about polyoma, just have
your birds vaccinated. The vaccine has been tested WAY more than the
Pacheco's disaster vaccine was, and they have had no awful side effects
surface. So if anybody is concerned about this virus, there's no reason
not to vaccinate.
