-=> Quoting Roy J. Tellason to Jasen Betts <=- RJT> *NOW* I get big, almost all-black bands across the pages. RJT> Looking at one bit of printout I see about three or so on a RJT> page.. JB> it sounds like you may have ruined the coating on the drum by JB> exposing it to too much light. :( RJT> Oh really? The only light that it was exposed to was the light in the RJT> room here, as it wasn't daylight when I did that. We're talking RJT> maybe a 60w spot that's over my desk... That might do it if it's really a spot. But it'd normally take something a bit brighter, I'd think. RJT> Any fix for it? Or am I screwed? The fix is "replace the drum". At least if that's the problem. And a tip for the future. *Never*, ever "blow out" toner. Always use a vacuum. and you need one with special filters, as toner is *very* fine. You need this for two reasons. First, it's fine enough that it's not good for you. Second, it can ruin all sorts of things if it gets into the wrong places. --- FMailX 1.60* Origin: Shadowgard (1:105/50) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 105/50 360 106/2000 633/267 |
