subject: Today`s ride, etc.

Had an interesting one today. I had to work at 3:00pm, so I decided to
get in a quickie. Hit the trail at 11:40. 1/6 of a mile into the ride, I
snap a deraillier bolt (thank God for breakaways). Hike back to my car,
all pissed, drive to Dad's house, replace it (good thing I bought two),
drive back out, ride (short but intense), go home, shower, get to work
at 2:45. It was meant to be.
Word Two : V-Brakes.
I know, get ready to dog me out, all you "I-told-you-so"-ers! I'll admit
that I was wrong (I had earlier shunned them). I am glad I was wrong. I
got the XTs but opted for Diacompe PC7-EXAs (I love my old PC7s, so it
was the logical choice). Jeez, man. What power! What control! I love
'em. Took me 5 minutes to get used to 'em. Total decceleration DEATH!
But with perfect modulation and control. I am really impressed,
especially since I got the setup (less cables) at Nashbar for $105!
Including shipping! Now is the time to upgrade!
See ya on the trail!
