Hmn.  Lessee.  That reminds me of a Tyrone Power movie.

Anyway, there are three (count 'em) separate peoples populating Spain.  In
the north, we have the Basques.  In middle-to-northern Spain, we have the
Catalans (probably successors of the Castillians) and in southern Spain, we
have the Spanish.  The Spanish sect does not get along with the Catalans. 
What a world!
