From what I've deduced in my readings about radio propagation, the answer must be that in winter time the trees are bare and the microwaves can slip through but in summer the foliage carries a lot of water which absorbs the radio energy. Why the signal improves significantly at night time in summer may be due to the inversion layer which bends the skywave down. Not sure. What do you think? Mike **** ...
