I try not to tell other people what hardware they should use.
It's really quite rude IMO.

It's comparable to telling an employee who arrives late due to
car trouble to buy a new car.  Very unrealistic to tell others
what to spend their money on and when.

This was the 'project' as it was
described to me and I accepted it as valid specifications
without a great deal of questioning of the logic.
