Hello Winston -

--8<--cut

WS> Ever since "The Great St. Louis Node List Fight" that
WS> spawned the first AlterNET (as I remember it). The only
WS> difference then was that there was more action taking place
WS> in the user areas than in the admin areas.

It is interesting that those who try to be so dead serious as
moderators cuss and curse one another like drunken sailors in
their own private little echo. LOL

WS> Now all of the small talk takes place in the admin areas,
WS> and if you try to say "hello" they throw P4 in your face.
WS> There is no place for a VT100 and a dialup modem any more.

Take comfort in that many of them must use DOS apps to keep
their systems functional. They can't or won't write their own
'tossers' etc. and seem to deeply resent that fact?

WS> If you can not spread a virus then you are not welcome! (I'm
WS> kidding! Well... barely....)

There are/were virus that attack DOS systems but they will not
auto-execute. You have to be careless enough to not scan demos
or hacked (pirated) games to get them (usually).
