That's ok, you can just give me some imaginary money and
I'll go buy the imaginary beer for you.

Hillage was the very cosmic guitar player in Gong during
their middle and most proggy phase (Planet Gong Trilogy -
Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg, You) and has done some pretty
decent solo albums, though some are better than others.
_L_, recorded with Todd Rundgren's Utopia as the backing
band, is highly recommended, as is _Fish Rising_ which
has a more canterbury sound to it.
Nik Turner is from Hawkwind as you know.
WM> Is the CD an official release or a bootleg of some sort? It sounds
WM> interesting... does it have a title?
It seems perfectly legit. It's title is The Stranglers
and Friends _Live in Concert_ on a UK budget label called
Hallmark (serial no. 302902). I bought it at Wal-Mart for
$4.88 canadian, which is about $3.25 US. I think it's
worth it for Fripp's leads alone. Definitely a weird
album, though. I'm still not sure whether I like it, it's
so schizo. THe notes also credit a "Richard Jobson" but I
wonder if it isn't Eddie Jobson and they just got the
name wrong. They also had a Rock Wakeman anthology at the
same label and price, and a collection of old unreleased
jams by Santana (which was pretty good).
WM> Ha, what a smart boy am I... I looked on one of my CDs... a Hawkwind
WM> album.... I knew I'd seen the name Nik Turner before! :)
See, I told you you knew him. :-)
Cheers,
Kenneth
