DM> + Cell phones have SMS-Service, Dave.
Texting whilst driving is both illegal and dangerous in the extreme.
Plus you'd have to know each driver's cell phone number. CB radio is a
broadcast medium - anyone with another CB radio tuned to your channel
can listen and reply. It still works for the truck drivers or they'd
quit using the CB to talk to one another.
DM> 2All: What is "The 4 wheelers"?
Over The Road trucks (called "articulated lorries" in the UK) have from
10 wheels on three axles to 18 wheels (or more) on 5 (or more) axles.
The most commonly seen arrangement is 18 wheels - 2 on the steering
axle, 8 on tandem drive axles on the power unit (tractor) and 8 on
tandem axles on the trailer.
Most passenger cars have 4 wheels on two axles - thus they are known in
trucker slang by the pejorative "4 wheelers".
