I think you are not well informed. One of the tasks of my company
(government telecom company) was to handle ship-shore traffic by morse
code.
It was officially abandoned years ago at international level, somewhere in
the second half of the 90-ies, I'm certain by the time you read this
Michiel will already have posted the exact date. They all use
INMARSAT-facilities now.
All radio-com stations for ship-shore traffic were dismantled and only a
small unit remains to listen to the emergency frequency. That's
voice-traffic.
