JOHN PUMMILL was thinking about OCR and keyed into cyberspace:
JP>MP> JP> They want to have the IEP meeting at this school, if that is
JP>MP> JP>not pre-determining I do not know what is.
JP>MP> Having the meeting at the school and finding out the kid has
JP>MP> been there
JP>MP> for weeks, and likes it. :)
JP> That would be a buzz-kill.
JP>MP> Josh is being placed out of district. We are visiting the
JP>MP> schools that
JP>MP> he may qualify for.
JP> What does Josh have as a reason ??
Me.
The district will do anything to avoid the problems I cause because I am
informed, knowledgeable about my sons rights, and willing to go an extra
mile or two to ensure them.
I have demanded that they provide a safe learning environment. They have
not, and do not have the will to do it.
One of the programs has a 95% college acceptance rate. The other 5% are
not choosing college. They are all good. We are just looking for the
best one for him.
BTW this is at a cost of >$22,000 per program per year. I guess that is
cheaper than doing their job.
JP> To resolve our OCR they are going to re-write everything dealing
JP>with 504 procedures. When OCR approves it the rest of the state has
JP>to come into compliance. We consider this a victory.
Why do you prefer the 504 when the IEP under IDEA is so much more
powerful?
JP> Still going after the principle. You should see the evidence we have
JP>against her non-compliance of ANYTHING concerning David. I will send
JP>a copy of the complaint (word perfect format) when it is finished.
Complaint or indictment? :)
