Then as I suggested, write or call Corel and ask about their upgrade policy 
for people who have stuck all these years with a version released by WPCorp.
If they say there is none, mention to them that they do not need to convert 
any of us over, we are already sold on it.. but that most probably will not 
upgrade if they have to buy the product as if they never bought anything at 
all in the past.
Corel may be working under the assumption that the WP faithful will buy it 
anyway, upgrade policy or not. If so, they won't change their minds unless we 
let them know their assumption is not at all correct.
Corel has a big enough problem with things like Billy Gates paying a visit to 
people like the Prime Minister of Canada and somehow the very next day, the 
decision by an entire government department to buy Corel WP is reversed. We 
need to show them we can boost their sales figures a bit, but that it will 
take a bit of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" on their part.
