I know a guy who, for his zinc, used a big lump of pure zinc, wired via an 
old piece of extention cord to his boat.. once he stuck a plain old 
volt-meter between the zinc and the boat and found that it was 1.5 volts or 
so.  Mabey a
setup like that would work?
