ml>> not the pattern on each... the pattern across all of them
ml>> together... put the first one down and then the next and so
ml>> on head to tail... it is possible that the drum is larger
ml>> around than the paper is long... make sure you get them in
ml>> the proper order and oriented right... it is likely to be
ml>> just one line on the drum... you can tell this if the lines
ml>> are all the same distance apart across the sheets... there's
ml>> no way i can do an ascii drawing to show what i'm talking
 ml>> about ;(

RJT> I've held these next to each other, there's no way to match stuff up...

not next to... END to END in the order in which they were printed...

[trim]

ml>> i didn't say take it apart... it may be possible to rotate
ml>> the gear while sliding the ruler in the same way that the
ml>> gear in a cdrom drive drives the door open on its toothed
 ml>> rail...

RJT> Grabbing handy sheets, there's one line about 1/8" from the
RJT> top, another one about 3/16" below that, three more a bit
RJT> over 1/16" spacing below that, another one 3/16" down,
RJT> then almost an inch of no lines (though there's print in
RJT> there like there's supposed to be). Then two lines real
RJT> close together, almost no space between them, another one
RJT> with a bit more room, another 3/16" gap, a gap of about
RJT> 3/8", one that's abou tan inch, another line 1/16" down,
RJT> then one 1/8" down, then a gap of about an inch. It goes
RJT> on like that, the pattern varying with not that much
RJT> regularity to it. The third page I have here shows several
RJT> lines that are close enough together to make an almost
RJT> continuous blur of gray, some of them over 1/8" wide. This
RJT> doesn't show up the same way on either of the other two
 RJT> pages...

that is wierd... i was hoping that you were getting one or two lines per
page... it does sound like something's gotten hosed... probably from
sitting for a while with a scraper/cleaner against it... hummm, speaking of
which, most HPs have this long bar that has some thick "cotten"
stiff on it for cleaning the final heater roller on output... has this been
changed when you change cartridges? AIR, its generally under a green
door... and ususally pretty warm if the printer has been on for a while...
