Yep, I know.  I think you're battling uphill, 'cause there's a potential 3x
command prompt processors in your operating (system) environment:
Command.Com; Cmd.Exe; and, whatever that NT doover of yours has got.

Try:

  CD /D C:\xxx\xxx
     ^^

Is that what you wanted?
