Does that all go on one line?  When I look at the dialogue box for the
flashkey macros, there is one line for what the button label will be,
and another for the task that button performs, such as @logoname,
@password, #dosprmpt.pif, or ^M.
 
Would putting just ^[ on that line work?  (I guess I could always try it
while awaiting your answer and see what happens).
