Actually, I have.  And velocity doesn't change that much and definitely
not
70 fps spread.  If this happens, perhaps the piston cup might need a
little
attention.  
I presume you get the higher velocity the faster you pump it, correct?
If you have a worn piston cup, the slower you pump it, more air will go
by
before reaching the intake valve.  
The biggest spread I have seen my 1400 done is about 10 fps spread;
pumping
fast, slow, soft, hard...but generally it is about 4-6 fps spread at the
most
with 10 pumps.
So what velocity are you getting? with what weight pellet?
I tend to use decent pellet as they are more uniform thus less variable.
