I use it only as an illustration.  How many times in our lives has the
guiding hand of God either closed doors or opened doors for the
individual?  To have closed one door and opened another illustrates one
economy chosen over another.  This is true as well for His calling out
of the Gentile nation, Israel.  The Church was never so called.  The
Church is a calling of individuals, Jew or Gentile, out of wordly
thinking into Spiritual.  The calling of Israel was national, though
there are both a believing and unbelieving remnanent within.  Again,
Rom 9-10 clearly distinquishes Israel and the Church post-Pentecost.
There the OT prophecies are quoted restating the covenant hope of the
believing remnanent of national Israel.
