exclaimed:

     They can.  In the episode "Q Who" we saw a Borg nursery. They are 
born totally organic, and then shortly after birth they start installing 
the implants.
 
 PA> 2) Why are there no non-humanoid Borg?
        You could ask why are there so few non-humanoid species in Trek.  
It's all the same reason, $$$$$$$.  Of course the Borg may choose to 
ignore those species anyway, even if we saw ample evidence of their 
existance on Trek.
