I don't buy their claim about not selling names and addresses of
members.  Shortly after I joined, I started getting on all kinds of
wacko para-military nut mailing lists.
Right now, I'm in your exact situation.  I had over five years
membership, lapsed it by accident and am now a "new" member.  And of
course they refuse to change that.
