CH> Wait. I used them on the front of a Corvair unstead of the
CH> wimpy
CH> stock front ones. But, I believe they were the same
CH> diameter and
CH> width. The fronts were smooth, and the rears were a heavier
CH> finned variety. I believe they were 9x2". Isn't that what
CH> you
CH> need? The wheels are the same 4-bolt pattern, so you may be
CH> able
CH> to adapt them without a lot of trouble.
CH> Sorry, I should have made it clear that I used rear drums on
CH> the
CH> front of the Corvair.
So much for THAT great idea.
CH> The Chevy II fronts were fairly weak, and the Corvair finned
CH> rears may well fit with little work and give a better
CH> reserve.
CH> Not sure what year Corvairs had those drums. I'd suspect
CH> '62
CH> to '64. In '65 they went to the five hole wheel when they
CH> changed the body style. If you can track down Clark's
CH> Corvair
CH> in Shelbourne, MA you could probably get that info.
May do it, I found the drums at a wonderful little shop in one of the worst
parts of Memphis. You figure it is a rough area when the junk yard dogs have
their own security system. HOPEfully this will work.
