RG> I'm a little surprise that there has not been a discussion on the Tour De
RG> France on this BBs. Any comments from anybody. Ulrich a cyclist from
RG> Germany seems to be the likely choice for the win. He's only 22!!! I
on't
RG> think a German has ever won the tour. I was hoping Orlano was going to
RG> lead. Oh well perhaps next year. Can you believe Pantani coming back like
RG> he is? Last here they didn't even think he would ride his bike again
fter
RG> that terrible fall that broke his leg in three places. The will to
ucceed
RG> was too great.
I've been watching every single stage from coverage on ESPN or ESPN-2, and
haven't missed one yet, thanks to vcr-programming.
I believe Ulrich is 23, a minor point anyway. His strength is incredible,
and I believe the key point was that individual time trial (Stage 12 or 13 I
believe), where he not only had the best time, but crushed the field by 3
minutes plus. Everyone that day had the hopes of picking up on some lost
time, well that surely didn't happen.
And Pantani is a tank.. Incredible..
