KH>I'm not really sure how to explain this... but I'll give it a try
KH> I have a fish that, about 4 weeks ago, had a bit of fluffy white
KH>stuff growing out of its 'nose' (the little hole ahead of the eye...
KH>that is sort of a nose, yes?). I noticed recently that it's gotten
KH>larger, and almost appears as though it could be 3 or 4 solid things
KH>like a parasite or something. I went through all of my books, but
KH>couldn't find anything like it.
KH>The fish is a Weather loach (Misgurnus Fossilis), or something of the
KH>same family. it's in a 55 gallon tank with several catfish and a
KH>couple of goldfish. The PH is around 6.6, which is the recomended ph
KH>for this perticular fish. He's been living in that tank, with those
KH>fish for about 3 years without a problem. There have been no new
KH>fish added recently, so I know this didn't from another fish. None
KH>of the other fish seem to have any ilness.
KH>If you have _any_ ideas, please let me know. This is one of my
KH>family's favorit fishes, and I'd really hate to loose him (or her
KH>)
Hi kyle, It sounds to me that it might be some kind of Fungus
infection! treatments should be readily available from your tropical
fish supplier. A dip in diluted Methylene Blue/Green might be the
answer? maybe treat the tank as well. Let me know how you get on.
 All the best Nigel.
