I built this thing, once upon a time.  Never hooked up a coax to it, to see 
if/where it would resonate.  Gave it to some new Ham, who was going to put it 
on his Antenna Analyzer.  (grin)  Wonder if he thinks his analyzer is going 
to charge the coax for the session? };->

What's there to figure out?  Cut it specifically for the frequency you want 
to operate, put about 12 stubs together, shove it inside some PVC, put an 
S0-239 at the bottom of it, and Rock-n-Roll!
