Hello Roy.

08 May 06 14:14, you wrote to me:

Did I write "all"?

RW> We don't, or at least I don't, since leaving Verizon, two years ago.

Good for you.

RW> As you say below, I also leave my cell phone on all the time. However,
RW> Cingular told me to turn it off periodically. This has something to do

That would make me very suspicious. I dont like software that can be
"upgraded" withoit me being in control of the process. I don't
need a virus in my cell phone.

RW> If you look at my bill, Cingular in this case, there is never a charge

Then you must pay a monthly fee.

RW> I would assume the same, if I'm within roaming range of a US
RW> based cell, while in Canada.

Being in range may not be enough. You may have to manually lock on that
cell. If not it may lock on the stronger signal of a Canadian cell. That
may even happen when you are on the US side of the border.

Over here we have to lock onto the home provider when roaming near the
Begian or German border to avoid the phone locking onto a german or
Belgian provider and be charged with outrageous international roaming fees.
