Sure, there are always these bastard motherboards about, but would you be
using one of them?  These sound suspiciously like Chicony boards, too...

Neither would I.  We had big problems at CHH with those boards which took
both 30-pin and 72-pin SIMMs, although that may have actually been
brand-related.
