MB>Anyway since I've been working outside so much I haven't done too
MB>much replying to msgs.
Spring snuck up on me, too, and I have to wean myself from this
infernal machine long enough to transplant my seedlings and start
my outdoors work. (Last week, we had the most snow of the winter.
Now our flowers are starting to open.)
MB>I'm so glad you got to go to Niagara Falls, It sounds wonderful.
MB>I guess it's a full fledge theme park now by the sounds of
MB>things.
I don't think of it as a theme park, but I guess it could be. The
Falls, although wonderful, are not as magnificent as 30 years ago
before so much of the front of the American Falls crumbled. I
keep wishing a giant hand with whisk and dustpan would reach down
and sweep the rubble up. :-)
MB>Oh you finally saw the cable car and the rapids, good! The
MB>whirlpool is more famous I guess, I don't hear of the Rapids very
MB>often. Refresh my memory, how far are the rapids and the
MB>whirlpool from the falls? I was just a kid when I saw those so I
MB>have a pretty fuzzy memory on that. :)
About 4 miles. From the Cable car headquarters, the Rapids are to the
right, the whirlpool to the left, and the rest of the river takes a
sharp turn just to the left, then goes straight.
MB>Thanks for sharing your visit with me. I enjoyed reading about
MB>it, and hope some day I can see all those gardens and
MB>butterflies etc.
As I hope someday to revisit Florida. :-)
...Sandra...
MB>SP> From there, I could barely see the promontory where I had stood on
MB>SP> the US side and looked down at the whirlpool, which I DID know
MB>SP> existed! Yesterday the Whirlpool was not as obviously
MB>SP> circular, as the force of high spring water created many little
MB>SP> eddies around the main turbulence.
MB>SP> And then we finally got to see the butterflies. What a gorgeous
MB>SP> end to a glorious day! It was a slightly belated 37th wedding
MB>SP> anniversary.. and all I wanted to do was rush back to my
MB>SP> non-functional computer and share it with you. Well, today my
MB>SP> computer was restored; so here I am, burbling merrily on. :-)
MB>SP> ...Sandra...
MB>SP> PS. We turned back then, but had we continued, we would have seen
MB>SP> the giant floral clock further along. I guess all those things
MB>SP> still exist.
