BG> A few of us in AUST_MODEM have been discussing the possibility of adding to
BG> Binkley, a command which drops the modems into command mode, issues a
BG> string, logs the results, then returns online, all during an unattended
BG> call.
BG> Example (in sequence)...
BG> command: +++
BG> response: OK
BG> command: AT%L%Q (or ATY11 if a USR)
BG> response: Display of line conditions (logged to binkley.log)
BG> command: ATO1
BG> response: CONNECT 28800/ARQ/V34/LAPM/V42BIS (or whatever)
BG> The exact point at which this command is to be issued is debatable,
BG> although just after the initial connect might be the easiest to implement.
BG> Is this possible?
It's certainly possible. And I may even be willing to do it if it
were simplified to...
AfterConnect "+++~~~~AT%L%Q^M~~~~~ATO1" 20
But would people actually want to change mailer just for that?
There's no EMSI with BTPE. Probably better to wait for Binkley
2.60, which is due out any time between 2 years ago and last
month. BFN. Paul.
