I'd sooner be BBS'ing, but with hospitals, I am not usually given the choice. :-)

The last time I was in hospital, I upset all the staff by having the
portable computer and modem beside the bed, and spending my time laying
down and reading Email, instead of sitting up and watching the idiot box.
It's amazing how narrow minded and conformist that hospital staff are when
they are faced with something out of the ordinary.

The fact that only ONE person out of all the doctors, sisters and nurses
could understand why I had the monitor on its side, was frightening. If
they couldn't figure that out, what hope did they have of figuring out
something more complicated like symptoms.  My suspicions were confirmed
when the pill dispenser couldn't work out how many 25mg pills she had to
give me to get a 150mg dosage :-(
