Ye Public Notice!
The election for a new Moderator of this echo, SCANRADIO, is officially open
between midnight, 0000, May 24, 1997, your local time, and ends ten days
later at midnight, 2400, June 3, 1997, your local time. Votes dated before or
after this period will not be counted.
The formal nominees for Moderator are:
Blake Bowers Troy Cheek Bud Jamison
See my previous message, SUBJECT: Election Qualifications, for details on
voter eligibility, and other pertinent issues.
You may vote ONLY one time by either of the following means:
A. Secret ballot by FidoNet NetMail, routed or direct, from your Fido
Node of Record TO: Bill Cheek @ 1:202/731 SUBJECT: Moderator Vote
(Results will be published, but voter names kept confidential)
B. Public ballot by a post on this Fido SCANRADIO echo from your Fido
Node of record TO: MODERATOR SUBJECT: Moderator Vote
The body of your vote message must be limited to the following format:
=========[Message Body Begin]========================================
I vote for FIRSTNAME LASTNAME
=========[Message Body End]==========================================
Do NOT include anything else, whatsoever, in the message body and do NOT use
the subject line: MODERATOR VOTE for anything else other than to cast your
one-time vote.
If you vote for someone other than one of the formal nominees, it would be a
very GOOD idea to include their Fido Node Number so I can contact them for
acceptance, should they win the election. If I can't contact your candidate
by reasonable means, they'll be disqualified.
Failure to fully and completely comply with this notice and/or of my previous
message, SUBJECT: Election Qualifications, will disqualify your vote. I, and
I alone, will make all decisions relevant to this election, and any decisions
are final, and are not subject to public dispute on this echo or even public
discussion here, except for the simplest of clarifications.
If you disagree with or object to the rules and discipline for this election,
you have only to thank a handful of malcontents, ruffians, jerks, twits,
lids, and aggressors of recent and mid past for the way things are. I am
aware of efforts by these people to skew the election and to pave the way for
their "grand re-entry" to this echo after a new Moderator takes over. Tough!
This is the way it is.....
The winner of the election will be notified in private shortly after the
close of the election, and announced publicly around the mid or latter part
of June.
It is anticipated that the new Moderator will assume all duties and
responsibilities for this echo on July 1, 1997. I expect to continue to
participate here as an ordinary User for some time thereafter.
Let the election begin.........
and do NOT reply to this SUBJECT/THREAD except to cast your vote. Change the
subject line if you need any clarification.
