I have to open and inspect all my equipment new or used because I don't
trust their quality control. I have seen the wildest things come in
all types of even expensive equipment. Solder blobs bridging across pads
but by just dumb luck aren't making contact, heavy current pads with the
component held by just a thin film of solder, extra screws, washers,
bolts, screws too long about to short something out, etc. Then again I'm
not a typical home user, much more handy than stupid, I think.
