Pig's arse he did.  Goetz's trial dragged on for ages, and at one stage he
was being called some sort of vigilante (which in reality, he was), and
came quite close to having his self-defence argument overturned.

Crap, the bailiffs can move in and take everything he owns, for a start.

Not any more.  It's mainly "no win, no pay" these days, and if
you do win, the lawyer's fees are taken out of the winnings.  A bit
different for defendants though, as they generally have to pay regardless.
