Bloody hell. Installing the SCSI into my Amiga was something
else! I had to stuff around with resistor terminators or
something. I didn't have documentation for my Conner, but I
did have documentation for my Seagate. It had a diagram telling
me the resistors I needed to take out. Now there's a good joke,
it was identifying some chips that looked like they might be
soldered on! Anyway, there were 3 similar things on the Conner
(60 meg), so I levered them out. Haven't these people ever heard
of jumpers? Maybe they should read their own manuals! I
jumpered the seagate to make it drive 1, stealing a jumper from
the conner which looked like it wasn't doing anything.
Anyway, turns out the Conner was actually unit 6!!! Anyway, I
decided to stick with the configuruation as it was, shouldn't
be a problem booting off the 1 gig anyway. Probably faster too.
Anyway, Keith, what this means is:
1. You can get the VLBus card anytime you want, I've wiped the
HD anyway.
2. Turned out I needed that cable in the Amiga, so I can only
give you the card, that OK? Or strictly speaking, I can give
you a 2cm long cable suitable for one device if you really want
it.
BFN. Paul.
