WP>What is the best lang to write os/2 progs in?
Hi Wayne--
There isn't any "best" programming language. Depends on what
languages you are comfortable with, what languages are implemented for
the operating system of choice, and what applications you are interested
in. Personally, I use REXX for short utilities, C for writing REXX
"external function" DLLs, and PL/I when I am serious about the
application. There are other languages available, including BASIC, C++,
COBOL, Pascal, and SmallTalk, to name a few.
What languages do you know? If the answer is none, or only
interpreted BASIC, you are probably best off if you start with REXX.
Among its other advantages, it comes with OS/2 so there are no startup
costs.
