| subject: | Harm from DosExit? |
CH> In a C program, is there any harm in calling DosExit CH> directly instead of using exit()? I know I shouldn't The only problem I can think of is that exit() will fflush() all of your open file streams, and DosExit() won't. Additionally (depending on how they were implemented in your compiler),atexit/onexit functions may not be called. If you have fclosed all of your file streams, and you're not using atexit(), I would not worry about using DosExit(). However --- the fact that exit() is getting stuck may be a sign that there is a bug in your program -- for example, the heap is corrupted. Try calling _heapchk [or whatever your compiler provides] just before the exit() and see what it has to say. --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
