Dave,
The mirroring starts when you select it..  It will take quite a while on 
large drives with lots of data..  Do NOT shutdown till you get a message the 
partitions are in sync (or such)..
If this is a home machine, its best not to run anything else while mirroring 
is doing this..  Its much faster on 2 empty drives before installing 
tware..
