ANTI-GUN BILLS ON THE FAST TRACK IN RHODE ISLAND!
Once again, attacks on our Second Amendment rights in the Rhode
Island State Legislature are being forged! The House Judiciary
Committee will soon vote on several proposals: H 7110, 7111,
7112, 7113, 7119, and 7518. These anti-gun bills, sponsored by
Representative Marsha Carpenter, not only include licensing and
registration schemes, but would outlaw the private transfer of
firearms. The purpose of this package is to make Rhode Island's
firearms laws stricter than federal laws and to give more control
over the purchase and ownership of firearms to state and local
police departments.
This package of bills will not stop criminals from obtaining
firearms. In fact, they have no crime-fighting merit whatsoever.
Rather, it's just one more example of government chipping away at
our rights -- one misguided law at a time.
