Calm dawn - at least fax works :-). Elite-Elite connections are greatly 
improved both V.34 and ZyX. But you are right: interoperability with Rockwell 
and USR has not improved at all. My poor uplink in Donetsk is pulling his 
hair 'cause ZyXEL's V.34 is worthless at roundtrip delay above 40.

ZyXEL has several times officially claimed that their primary goal in Elite 
is ISDN while V.34 is only a secondary feature which is mostly intended as a 
help in transition to ISDN.
My advice - if V.34 is your primary use of modem - sell Elite and by V.Evr. 
instead.
