We got up into the 60s (17-ish) early today,
so I put my silly hat on and did my walk
early; then the temperature sagged and the
wind picked up, with 20s (40-odd) since before
noon, which means 10+ more up on the hill. The
forecast is 24 more hours solid 20s. A branch
just fell on Lilli's ugly but beloved glass
deck table. Unfortunately, it did not break.
We all, it seems, carry our own burdens.

In my day, junkers got stolen frequently, for
reasons that seem clear. Abundant, hard to
pick out of a lineup, abandonable at will.

When I get nostalgic for it, I go to the bar
and get a shot. The last time that happened
was in the 1990s.

I wouldn't be the one to say about the wine or
bitters, but my guess would be a tad less Jager.

10 dr Angostura
1 1/2 oz sherry
3/4 oz brandy

Mix, strain, and garnish with a twist.
