I don't think FIDO is the "be all end all," but that's just my opinion. As far as "othernets," I was living in a town with 2 *big* BBS's in the early 90's and 3 smaller ones. None of them carried FIDOnet, but the two big ones each carried 2 "other" nets, one of them was Intelec, which was pretty active at the time. It wasn't till I was helping a friend setup a modem and get connected in another town that I even learned about FIDOnet. Since it was long distance for me, I didn't post. Also, I don't see anything wrong with alternatives. There's one BBS I telnet into that has great local messages & no games I care for. It's worth it for me for the messaging. BS> Some people use them to get power. :/ How? By subverting users? Jim ... If this were an actual tagline, it would be funny. ___ MultiMail/Win32 v0.45 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Sursum Corda!
