Season's Greetings Geno,
AH> Okay everybody, show me your seamanship. What are these and
AH> where are they normally found? No wrong answers please... unless
AH> tagged with "guessing" :^)
AH> i) FlG
AH> ii) GP FL(3) 12s 34Feet 13M (U)
AH> iii) Mo(A) 6s
AH> iv) (VQ(6)+LF1) 10s
AH> v) Oc (2) 20s
GD> They're LIGHTS. The descriptions above are normally found on a chart or
GD> light list but the actual light is usually visible from the water... :)

Nice try Geno - you qualify to skipper a windsurfer in a pond during
daylight hours only
Remember that white light you told me about at the entrance to your
harbour? The "WT" on the chart stands for "water tower". I know what all
of the above mean too but I'm not going to tell you for awhile to see if
you can get it :^) I worked out number iv easily enough, but still can't
figure out why they have the LF1... maybe it's for people who don't count
so well? Next week's quiz is going to be much tougher (I'm planning
abrevs. :^), so you better hit the books real hard :^) Maybe I should
transfer this over to the Coast Guard Conf to see if they REALLY know
everything they say WE should know!
Cheers,
