Is there more to using an external editor with Max then the statements
in Max.ctl and Access.ctl?
I used the following in MAX.CTL LocalEditor @c:\max\xxxx.exe %s
(I had placed the new editor in the Max directory).
and in ACCESS.CTL MailFlag Editor
(for each of the desired access levels).
But apparently there is more to be done. The above worked great in a
local log-on, but it hung on the first outside caller after they hit
REPLY. (It entered the editor but refused to let them do anything after
that.)

Alternatively, while trying this, I got the impression from the Max
documentation that it might be possible to have the entire message being
replied to pop up as a quote using MaxEd. This is what I was looking for
in a new editor. However, I was unable to puzzle this out from the
information given.
I've got long-time callers who refuse to use the CTRL + KR route - and I
don't really blame them.
Any help would be appreciated.
