Hello Phil -

PM> That's an odd coincidence -- a friend of mine, a Kurosawa
PM> fan, has been after me to watch that as well.

I don't generally 'follow' a particular actor or director but I
am aware of Kurosawa since he did "Yojimbo" and "Seven
Sammurai". My daughter bought me his "Dreams" tape.

PM> Rashomon has a Hollywood remake version as well, doesn't
PM> it? Can't recall the title.

I think several of Kurosawa's films have been remade here and I
am told they don't pay a dime to use them either.

PM> You're forgetting that I go back to when there were -only-
PM> black and white films and foreign films were never dubbed.
PM> [g]

Many who are old enough to remember B&W have changed their
preferences now that there are so few B&W movies out there.
