Quality has taken a serious nose dive of late even on the better brands.
VCR's that cause interference to tv's (missing filtering in switching
supply). Tv's that cause interference to VCR's (no bottom shielding on
VCR). The list of defects goes on until it's enough to make you sick.
As for repairs, pretty soon they will do away with access screws
altogether.
