I may be misunderstanding your problem but I have programmed a digital
clock and C. Petzold has a listing of one in his book on PM.  A
modification of his program to count seconds and present it on the screen
is not a big change for his program. If you want to run the clock as a
subprocess and give control back to the parent then this might be a way to
do what you want.  If this isn't what you want to do then just ignore my
suggestion. Petzold's book is "OS/2 Presentation Manager
Programming". Good book.
