subject: DETECTING A PROCESS

I read your message and looked for a routine in the library reference for
my compiler. I didn't find anything that would give you any information
directly. However, there are two routines that you might investigate. The
first is getpid which returns the pid for the process that you are
investigating. The second routine is system which issues a command to the
system. You could invoke the command "pstat > [filename]"
where filename receives the data from pstat. Knowing the name for the
process you could search the file for the existence of the process name.
There may be a more clever method of getting the information you want but I
don't know that method. The above should work but it's the long way. I
have version 1.5 of Borland's C++ for OS/2.
