1237c369ef47 tech Hello Mike - PM>> Gee, Mike, what with summer/winter, temporary garage PM>> structures, humidity, foliage or the absence thereof, and PM>> now giant sunspots, I'll be able to figure this out by PM>> 2050. MR> You better hurry we're supposed to be all digital by 2005... PM>> Just kidding. I've actually noticed the blackouts on radio. MR> No kidding, the AM dial just goes eerily quiet with MR> whistles and howls ontop of the local stations. It feels a MR> whole lot lonelier without all those distant US stations MR> cluttering up the band! I've read articles before that claimed Americans have replaced their 'acquaintances' with TV and radio personalities. Seems it is so. I recall vacationing as a child in the thumb area of Michigan where there were only two TV stations and at night it _did_ feel 'lonely'. I watched Steve Allen, Jack Paar, then Johny Carson leave the "Tonight Show" and it felt as though an acquaintance was moving away each time even though I had ceased to watch the show on a regular basis. I liked knowing they would be there if I could not sleep. Jay Leno doesn't 'fit' the mold for some reason and now I never watch the show. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
