Hi
I have a Suprafax 288i modem and am trying to run it on my Northgate 386.
I noticed that there are a series of jumpers which are labeled as follows
Ser 0 Ser 1 Irq 2 Irq 3 Irq 4 Irq 5
Modem works on Comm 3 under the following configuration....
Ser 0 disabled
Ser 1 enabled
IRQ 4 enabled
However, because my mouse is on Comm 1 and is using IRQ 4, I am trying to
ind
out how I can get the modem to work on IRQ 3, Comm 2. So far, I have not
found the correct configuration. Also, because this is a PC which I have
ust
acquired, and have not yet seen Comm 2 working, I am not positive that Comm 2
is in fact a working port. Although MSD and Windows show Comm 1, 2, and 3
as all set up to work. Once I get the correct configuration, would it be
possible for me to use the Comm 3 port because I know that it works?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
