I don't think the PC internal speaker volume can be changed by software...

you rewire it with a rheostat, you might be able to add a dial to the front

the computer to adjust it... the PC speaker was not designed to have variable
volume.... if you've got a sound card (or maybe a PCjr) you should be able to
adjust volume in software...
